You'll work with a small team of exceptional systems engineers to design and implement our cloud-based, scalable hosting infrastructure using the latest technologies. You'll develop the software tools and systems necessary to reliably deploy, maintain, monitor, and support hosting environments for 1000s of customers. In our fast-paced environment, you'll leverage your web, database, OS and networking knowledge to make sound engineering judgements and to create novel solutions to tough technical problems.

Specific areas include:

    * Create standard hosting software configurations that ensure reliability, security and performance
    * Create tools for rapidly deploying and managing massive numbers of Drupal-powered web sites
    * Configuration management and continuous build integration
    * End-to-end performance analysis and testing
    * Debug issues with Linux software, applications, and cloud services
    * Research and develop new hosting technologies 

The position is located in our Woburn, MA office.
Required Experience

    * 3+ years experience in Linux systems engineering and software development
    * Expertise in at least one object oriented scripting language such as ruby, php, python, perl
    * Experience in all layers of the hosting stack including load balancing, web servers, database, reliable file systems, and networking
    * Expertise in web server configuration (especially Apache)
    * Expertise in OS administration and installer technologies
    * Working knowledge of networking including TCP/IP, HTTP, and load balancing
    * Familiarity with source control systems and branching methodologies (Subversion experience is a plus)
    * Comfortable creating and extending makefiles
    * Excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written
    * Experience with agile and test-driven development methodologies (Scrum)
    * BS in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience

    * SQL programming and MySQL administration
    * LAMP stack
    * Amazon EC2 and S3
    * Continuous integration systems such as Buildbot, Hudson
    * Memcached and other caching technologies
    * Clustering and other high availability technologies
    * Performance and load testing
    * Drupal
