Job Description:
Our long-time client, a leader in enterprise-wide BI and data mining technology solutions, has asked us to find a Technical Presales Consultant for their sales focus on O&G Upstream and Mid-stream segments of the O&G industry. Location needs to Houston - for pretty obvious reasons. Travel may be in the 50%+ range. This position will be focused on providing support for sales teams and O&G customers and prospects located in the US but it is possible that some international travel may be required as well.
The preferred focus for this role will be:
> Upstream experience
> Reservoir engineering area would be ideal
> Reservoir optimization including economics, decline curves, reservoir monitoring and simulation
> Experience with E&P firms like Chevron, Exxon, IOC, Apache, Noble Energy, Newfield Exploration, Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC), Encana, Cnooc, OAO Tatneft, , XTO Energy, Canadian Natural Resources, Chesapeake, Woodside, Inpex, KazMunaiGas Exploration, PTT Exploration, Novatek Oao, EOG Resources, Nexen, Anadarko, Canadian Oil Sands Trust, Devon Energy, Nexen, Santos, or similar would be ideal
> Houston is the location for this role so you can be a part of the O&G team already in place
The target market includes all US petroleum producers, all US service providers, exploration and ops including supply chain, operations, maintenance, transportation and finance for upstream and mid-stream.
The person in this role will be a very strategic part of the sales team for this major industry practice and will be responsible for helping to establish and deliver a business development strategy for the practice and the role includes the following and, perhaps, more:
*5-7+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas sector with BI/DW expertise in hand
*Experience solving real-world industry issues (ops, financial and/or marketing)
*Experience consulting with senior level executives and able to relate at all levels equally well
*Understanding of BI utilization within financial management, supply chain, CRM and other areas
*Knowledge and experience within the sector either from within the industry or with a BI/DW competitor focused on Oil & Gas
*Knowledge of future trends, business issues and concerns within the industry
*Knowledge and experience with building Data Warehouses and Data Marts
*Knowledge and understanding of "Logical Data Sources" (CIS, SAP, Web Sites, etc. and external data, e.g. D&B, Demographics, Clustering, etc.) required for BI
*Consulting & consultative selling skills from past experience
*Resource Management/Scheduling and Project Management
*Proposal Development and Service Offering Scoping
*Relationship building, strategic planning and visionary thinking skills
*Public speaking, meeting management & facilitation, excellent oral, written & presentation skills
*Analytical and problem solving skills
*Minimum of a four year degree in related field
*Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, faster than a speeding bullet... etc.
Compensation includes a solid base salary in the $130K to $150K+ range with bonus that puts the all-in number in the $150K to $190K+ range. Excellent benefits and other perks apply as well.
