What personally identifiable information does Company collect from me?
Company collects information in several ways from different parts of our web site.
Some personal information is gathered when you register, such as your name and contact information. Once you register you are no longer anonymous to Company.
In addition to registration we may ask you for personal information at other times, including (but not limited to) when you create your professional profile and when you report a problem with one of our sites or services.
When you create your professional profile you may provide additional information describing your areas of experience, skills, education, and job preferences such as type of job, salary, and employee benefits. Information in your profile enables us to find you jobs that fit both your professional background and personal preferences. The more information you volunteer (and the more accurate it is), the better we are able to match you with new job opportunities.
If you contact Company we may keep a record of that correspondence. Company also occasionally asks users to complete surveys that we use for research purposes. Wherever Company collects personal information we make an effort to include a link to this Privacy Policy on that page. However, due to technical limitations there may not be such a link on each page.
What are cookies and how does Company use them?
As part of offering and providing customizable and personalized services, Company uses cookies to store and sometimes track information about you. A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a web server and stored on your computer's hard drive. All sites on Company where you are prompted to log-in or that are customizable require that you accept cookies. (See "What are my choices regarding collection, use and distribution of my information?" for more information on cookies.)
Generally, we use cookies to:
- Remind us of who you are and to access your account information (stored on our computers) in order to deliver to you a better and more personalized service. This cookie is set when you register or "Sign In" and is modified when you "Sign Out" of our services.
- Measure certain traffic patterns, which areas of Company’s web sites you have visited and your visiting patterns in the aggregate. We use this research to understand how our users' habits are similar or different from one another so that we can make each new experience on Company a better one. We may use this information to better personalize the content, banners, and promotions that you and other users will see on our sites.
Advertising networks that serve ads onto Company may also use their own cookies.
How does Company use my information?
Company's primary goal in collecting personal information is to help you, the user, find targeted job opportunities more effectively. By knowing your professional profile, Company is able to deliver more relevant job opportunities, and hence better service, to you.
In our role of delivering targeted job opportunities, Company plays the facilitator. Employers and recruiters, who are registered with our site, create job profiles in similar way as you create your professional profile. Company takes the job profiles and matches them with your professional profiles. As a result, you can view job profiles that match your criteria and employers and recruiters can view all of the information in your profiles that match the jobs’ criteria. In this process, the employer and recruiter never have access to your personal contact information such as your name, email address and phone number. Only Company has access to individuals' accounts. You can be notified of the matching job opportunities via email from Company if you have indicated in your account settings that you would like to receive them. You can change your account settings at any time.
Recruiters and employees using the website should be aware that the company name will be displayed on the site to job seekers.
Company does research on users' demographics, interests and behavior based on the information provided to us upon registration and during the course of use of the service, from our server log files, backups or from surveys. We do this to better understand and serve our users. This research is compiled and analyzed on an aggregated basis and does not personally identify users as individuals. Company may share this aggregated data with advertisers or business partners.
Who is collecting information?
When you are on a Company site and are asked for personal information, you are sharing that information with Company and the third parties which operate its services. Company and such third parties have the right to collect, analyze and distribute such data. If you do not want your data to be shared, you can choose not to allow the transfer by not using that particular service.
Promotions and services may be sponsored or operated by companies other than Company or may be cosponsored or operated by Company and another company. Some or all data collected during a promotion or use of a service may be shared with the other company.
Please be aware that Company advertisers or web sites that have links on our site may collect and use personally identifiable information about you. The information practices of those web sites linked to Company are not covered by this privacy statement.
With whom does Company share my information?
As a general rule, Company will not disclose any of your personal contact information (e.g. name, email address or phone number) except when we have your permission as described below or under special circumstances, such as when we believe in good faith that the law requires it or under the circumstances described below.
Company will only share your personal contact information with employers and recruiters with your consent. You can consent to such disclosure by:
- Selecting the "Public" option in the registration process or in the "Account Settings" page.
- Applying for a job opportunity.
- Following up on a recruiter’s or employer’s request for your personal contact information.
Once you have consented to a recruiter or employer receiving your personal contact information, that employer or recruiter will have ongoing access to your contact information on Company unless you delete the recruiter or employer from your "Company Permissions" table. Of course, Company can’t be responsible for the use of your personal contact information once it has been made available. This may result in unsolicited contact from employers, recruiters or other third parties.
By using the service, you agree that Company will show to employers and recruiters other information in your profile other than your personal contact information, such as your job title and employer name. Company is not responsible to you if employers and recruiters gain access to your personally identifiable information using the limited information made available to them on the site.
Company may disclose account information in special cases when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be violating Company's Terms of Use or may be causing injury to or interference with (either intentionally or unintentionally) Company's rights or property, other Company users or anyone else that could be harmed by such activities. Company may disclose or access account information when we believe in good faith that the law requires it and for administrative and other purposes that we deem necessary to maintain, service and improve our products and services.
What are my choices regarding collection, use and distribution of my information?
You also have choices with respect to cookies. By modifying your browser preferences, you have the choice to accept all cookies, to be notified when a cookie is set or to reject all cookies. If you choose to reject all cookies you will be unable to use those Company services that require registration in order to participate.
Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, Company cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or from our online products or services, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems.
What else should I know about my privacy?
Please keep in mind that whenever you voluntarily disclose personal information online - for example on message boards, through email or in chat areas - that information can be collected and used by others. In short, if you post personal information online that is accessible to the public, you may receive unsolicited messages from other parties in return.
Ultimately, you are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your passwords and/or any account information. Please be careful and responsible whenever you're online.
You may contact the Federal Trade Commission for an overview of privacy protection.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
Company may update this privacy policy. In the event there are significant changes in the way we treat your personally identifiable information, we will display a notice on this site. Unless stated otherwise, our current Privacy Policy applies to all information that we have about you and your account.
Security
In order to secure your personal information, access to your data on Company is password-protected. When you place an order online at Company, your credit card information is protected through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layer ("SSL") protocol. SSL makes it difficult for your credit card information to be intercepted or stolen while being transmitted.
